On Saturday, 11th April 2026, I had the profound honour of being recognised on a continental stage at the African Heritage Awards (AHA 2026), held at the prestigious Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel.
That evening, I was awarded the African Legal Icon Award 2026—a distinction awarded across the entire African continent. It is a moment I receive with deep humility, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to purpose.
A Night of Legacy, Excellence, and Vision
From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this was not simply an event—it was a movement.
The venue was transformed into a breathtaking black and gold experience, symbolising strength, prestige, and the future of African excellence. Every detail reflected intentionality and global standards.
One of the most powerful moments of the evening was the grand procession of awardees.
We entered from the rear of the auditorium, walking through a VIP cordoned pathway, surrounded by distinguished leaders and guests. It was symbolic—each step representing years of discipline, resilience, and impact.
At the front stood a long, exquisitely decorated table, where each awardee was seated with personalised name placements and elegant white chairs—a powerful visual of unity among Africa’s leading voices.
In that moment, I recognised that this was not simply recognition.
It was legacy in motion.
African Legal Icon Award 2026 – A Continental Honour
To be named African Legal Icon 2026 is one of the highest honours of my professional journey.
This recognition reflects over two decades of legal excellence, spanning:
- Corporate Governance
- Cross-Border Structuring
- Regulatory Advisory across the ECOWAS region
- Leadership within Ghana’s banking and financial sector
Over the course of my career, I have served as Head of Legal for multiple banks in Ghana, playing a pivotal role in structuring, compliance, and institutional governance within the financial services sector.
I have also had the privilege of serving as a Technical Consultant with the World Bank Group, engaged from Washington D.C. to work across the ECOWAS region, where I contributed to the development of the ECOWAS Scorecard—a key regional governance and performance framework.
The ECOWAS region spans the following countries:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
In addition, I have served as Legal Manager at PwC Switzerland, advising on complex international legal and regulatory matters.
My leadership journey also includes being elected as the first female Vice President of the SRC at the Ghana School of Law, a milestone that shaped my early commitment to leadership and representation.
Beyond law, I am the Founder of Raindrops on Petals Ltd, a management and innovation platform dedicated to solving global challenges through education, technology, and strategic development. Through this work, I was honoured as a Stanford University Seed Aspire Recipient, further strengthening my commitment to global impact and scalable solutions.
To be recognised across the whole of Africa is both humbling and deeply affirming.
