This year marks 20 years since I was first called to the Bar in Ghana — a milestone that reminds me how law, service, and resilience have shaped every stage of my career. Two decades on, I remain deeply passionate about creating access to justice, fostering trust in institutions, and bridging Ghana’s legal and global business systems.
When I began my journey in 2005, I only wanted to serve with diligence, I didn’t really have any other objectives because so much is based on opportunity and being chosen by the client, especially when one starts out. It was really a pleasant insight that everywhere I kept being called to, they asked me to lead after the interview. Over the years, that calling to serve has evolved into a truly cross-border practice — one that allows me to advise individuals, corporations, and governments with both local understanding and global standards.
Recognised for Excellence in Legal Practice
In October 2025, several Ghanaian media outlets recognised this milestone and the international work I’ve led through Clinton Consultancy:
- Yen.com.gh – “Meet Amanda Clinton’s Silent Twin Sister Making Waves in Legal Circles”
- MyJoyOnline – Legal Leadership Feature
- GhanaWeb – “British-Ghanaian Lawyer Bianca Akweley Clinton Celebrates 20 Years at the Bar”
These features celebrated not only my two-decade journey but also the values that define The Law Office of Clinton Consultancy — excellence, professionalism, and global impact from Ghana.
From Ghana to the Global Stage
I pursued an LL.B (Honours) in the United Kingdom, then returned to Ghana to attend the Ghana School of Law, where I served as the first female Vice President for two years before being called to the Ghana Bar. Afterward, I returned to England and qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 2009.My professional journey has been diverse and global. I have served as Head of Legal for ProCredit and Access Bank, managing complex corporate and financial regulatory matters. Later, I became Legal Manager at PwC Switzerland, where I advised multinational clients on cross-border compliance and governance while simultaneously serving as a Senior Partner at Clinton Consultancy.
In time, I was offered an opportunity to work with the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C., contributing to legal and institutional reforms for Ghana — a defining experience that deepened my understanding of global governance and development law.
Today, as Managing Partner of The Law Office of Clinton Consultancy, I lead a team advising clients in Ghana, the UK, and internationally. We handle corporate law, land and property disputes, debt recovery, immigration and visa appeals, gold and natural resources regulation, and international investment transactions.
What Drives My Work
Every matter — whether it’s a land litigation, a commercial restructuring, or an investor visa — represents more than a case. It’s an opportunity to uphold trust, protect rights, and empower clients to move forward with confidence.
I’ve learned that success in law is not only about intellect — it’s about empathy, precision, and doing what’s right even when it’s not easy.
“Excellence is not an act; it’s a lifelong habit of integrity, discipline, and service.”
Looking Ahead
As I reflect on two decades in practice, I remain committed to strengthening Ghana’s legal system, supporting entrepreneurship, and building bridges for international collaboration. The next chapter will be about mentorship, innovation, and continuing to represent those who trust us to deliver results.
